Back once again (for the renegade master) with another update on The Ibiza Diaries – but I seriously can’t believe that we are already 11 weeks into this series! Sometimes it seems that the time is going sooooooo slowly to our UK and Ibiza holiday, and then sometimes 11 weeks have gone by without me even realising.
This week in particular has been jam packed! Jam packed with clients, and a bunch of my stuff as well. The first part of the week was the lead up to my check in with full measurements and a body composition test. There was a five week gap between my last test and this one, and I am really happy with the results that came out of it. There’s a whole blog post explaining all of the changes (with progress pictures and all sorts) so make sure you go and check that out here. In short, I hit a new low body fat% that I am VERY happy with 🙂
My workouts the past week have been pretty strong. I had a bit of a wobble on my push day, and had a little cry (#Standard) but Matt was there to push me on and get the best out of me. I think it was just an accumulation of trying so hard for the past however many weeks along with some tiredness. But I got over it and carried on. The other workouts were pretty good, the gyms quiet so I was just able to get on with it. My mind always wants to not bother with the cardio, but I made sure to get it all done this week no matter what. I went to the track with Matt on one of the days for a ride which was really good, and then the 2nd long session I took to the treadmill and played a musical on my phone. Whenever a song came on I ran, and whenever it was just regular dialogue I brought it down into a quick walk.
My nutrition has been much better since I switched back to flexible dieting/IIFYM. If you don’t understand exactly what that is – here’s my little rundown. I have a certain amount of carbs, proteins and fats to hit each day, and I use MyFitnessPal to log and hit them every day. I allow +/-5g on each macro as long as I am hitting my fibre goal. It takes a bit of mathematics and playing around with amounts of food – but it seems to work for me, so that is what I am going to stick to!
Another big thing this week was my 80 days sober-versary! That’s 80 whole days without a drink. Not even one. And anyone who knows me knows that I like to go out and have a few beers. It’s been really tough, especially throughout the Euro’s, but I’ve stuck to my guns! Just 30 days left now – easy!
The only thing that was different nutritionally this week was weigh-in day. After 5 weeks of solid hard work I believed that I deserved a little treat! Me and Matt had a bit of a day date (all worked out based on what we wanted to eat of course lol) and we went to Nando’s for lunch, headed to the cinema to watch Captain America: Civil War, and then we got FroYo whilst wandering the mall looking for Wedding outfits for the UK. After that we went to Salt at Mushrif Park for our favourite Wagyu Beef and Chicken Cheeto Burgers. It was incredible ❤
Straight back on track on Saturday, and just felt really good for it!
The countdown is officially on. 31 days until we hit the UK, and 41 days until Ibiza. It’s all go go go here in Abu Dhabi, and I am determined to stay on track. Ramadan is now coming to an end this week, so my diary really picks up next week. I am trying to balance out enough time to make sure that I am training properly myself, and at the moment that sometimes means a little nap in the day time so that I can be ready to go for the rest of the day. As I said a couple of weeks ago, maybe I have to be a little selfish at this stage to reach my goals. If I’m not rested enough, I can’t perform at my optimum level! So I’m more than happy to have a little snooze in the day if needs be lol!
My training and macros haven’t changed for the past 3 or 4 weeks, so I am anticipating a change soon from Lucy (depending on how my check in’s go). We shall see, and I shall of course let you all know!
Have a good week everyone, and as always your comments are always appreciated 🙂
