Ohhhhhh I do love a bit of Les Mills!
And that love was re-kindled just tonight when I went to my first Les Mills class in about 8 months – EEEEEK!
I’d been doing a little research over the last few days, trying to find something to do for the next few weeks until the start of my new ‘plan’. Not having a plan right now is a little worrying for me because not having something to aim for means I have to rely on myself to get up and go – but I’ve always known that I love a bit of Les Mills – and I was super excited to find a gym that does aaaaaalll of the Les Mills classes, and it’s right on my doorstep!
So, after I checked out the class time table, I thought I’d head down for my first combat class tonight.
When I caught sight of the place I was a little worried – I’ll admit. A proper ‘man’s gym’ with chalk buckets, boxing bags & hardly any mirrors (why didn’t I just walk out there and then lol). There was also an area outside where people were taking part in boxing training. But I brushed off the looks of ‘who’s this newbie?’ and walked right on in…
After talking to the receptionist and signing myself up for class one, I expected to be led to the studio, but no! We were doing this class right there in the middle of the room – the only girls – as the guys threw around a bunch of heavy stuff around us. I NEVER thought I’d be able to do that…and I used to hate working out with other people watching, but I realised that I was loving the class so much that I just smashed it out! I haven’t sweat so much in a long long time and I can already tell that I won’t be able to lift my arms up tomorrow.
So I’ve signed up to 10 classes
